Hurricane Preparedness

June 1st – November 30th is Hurricane Season. Be prepared! 

Hurricane Season is here and the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic & Assistance Foundation wants to ensure you and your loved ones are ready. 
Read the following tips for more information on emergency preparedness. Stay safe!

 

 


 

 

 Every family and workplace should plan for emergencies –visit NOLA Ready’s Make A Plan page for help 
 Each person should have their own go bag. Pack essentials, don’t forget important documents & identification.
 Have an emergency kit ready with supplies for at least 3 days or more. Click here for a list of supplies.
 Register HERE if you need assistance evacuating during an emergency or call 311 today.
 Know who you plan to get in touch with and how. Choose a place to reunite if separated during an emergency.
 What you can’t take, store in the highest level of your home in waterproof containers. Park car on high ground
 Update everyone’s contact info, make sure you are reachable and have a backup communication plan just in case.
 Stock up on medical supplies and necessary medications. Know your prescription names and dosages.

Evacuteer provides evacuation services at pick-up spots (evacuspots) around the city of New Orleans to those in need of transportation assistance.

 

 

NOLA Ready, the City of New Orleans’ hurricane preparedness campaign, has useful information, support and emergency updates.

 

 

 Ready.Gov is the Department of Homeland Security’s website with helpful brochures and information on disaster preparedness, featuring tips on what to do before, during and after a storm.
