Hands-on CPR Training for New Orleans Culture Bearers
Classes held in August & September 2021
The New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic (NOMC) is keeping the beat alive by providing hands-on CPR classes for culture bearers and cultural economy workers. As we enter back into the festival season, keeping our musicians, stage krewe, and cultural bearers healthy remains our top priority.
The four-hour, COVID-safe, classes will teach (or serve as a refresher course) for those interested in hands-only CPR. Naloxone administration and information regarding overdose response will also be included in the training. There are several training dates to choose from in August and September, and our goal is to train 100 individuals. Upon completion of the certification, participants will receive a gift certificate to a BIPOC-owned local business. Please share the word in your community and encourage others to sign up below– by taking this step, you just might save a life.
This program is made possible with funding from the New Orleans Office of Cultural Economy and in partnership with Heartbeat NOLA, Tulane University, local venues and cultural community service organizations.
