Patient Navigation

We employ a full-time Case Manager and Certified Patient Navigator, Megan McStravick, who is available to guide patients through and around barriers in the complex healthcare system, helping them overcome obstacles faced in accessing or receiving treatment, insurance navigation, and more. We also offer insurance and Marketplace/ Affordable Care Act (ACA) counseling. In addition, the Musicians’ Clinic is an official Medicaid Enrollment site.

Types of Insurance

Medicaid

Medicaid is health insurance for low-income people and families. Louisiana’s Medicaid program is called Healthy Louisiana. Eligibility for Healthy Louisiana is based on income and family size. Learn more or apply online at healthy.la.gov.

Health Insurance Marketplace

Healthcare.Gov is the official site of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The Marketplace can help uninsured and under-insured individuals and families buy affordable private insurance plans. You may qualify to get help paying your monthly premium and other out-of-pocket costs like copays and deductibles.

Medicare

Medicare is health care coverage for senior citizens, aged 65 and older. You can learn more from your provider or by calling 1-800-Medicare, (800) 633-4227.

If Uninsured

The NOMC accepts all eligible patients, regardless of insurance status. Your payments will be on a sliding fee scale, which means you will only pay what you can based on your income.
