Play It Safe is a model program focusing on harm-reduction measures for the New Orleans cultural community by providing access to protective equipment and health education resources.

Ensuring the safety of NOLA artists and limiting the spread of COVID-19.

Play It Safe helps local performers protect their health as public-facing performance events resume. We are working directly with local performers and venues through each phase of reopening to provide protective equipment – such as masks, hand sanitizer, microphone windscreens, and bell covers – and health education resources.

COVID-19 threatens already vulnerable culture-bearers, especially those that are older or suffering from pre-existing conditions. Play It Safe aims to help reduce the risk for working musicians. Email info@nomaf.org to learn more.

bell covers 1

Play It Safe Bell Covers are one example of our musician-specific PPE. These act as masks for musicians’ instruments and are made with durable, washable fabric that meets standards for blocking aerosol droplets. Bell covers allow musicians to play without the risk of spreading viruses AND without impacting sound quality or volume!

Play It Safe performer PPE packs include: bell covers, microphone screens, masks, sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer, and a performer safety education guide.
